The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) was just reformed so that disabled people can’t sue public businesses for discrimination because it would be discrimination against that business.
50% of all US murder victims by police officers are disabled
Bathrooms, entryways, seating, parking, and other public spaces are segregated for disabled people
Disabled children are required to go to segregated schools
Disabled people can't…
Get married without losing their health insurance which is a death sentence
Have savings accounts
Have more than $2000 at any given time
Own or inherent property
Own jewelry worth more than $100 or other items worth more than $500 without reporting them to the government
It is legal for a parent to murder a disabled child if they consider that child an undue burden
This is an extremely short list of things you are leaving out of your social justice
it happened today, damn that was like 3 days maybe?

Keith’s visceral fear of abandonment when it comes to Shiro makes so much more sense now because he always knew he was going to lose him someday,, this wasn’t some far off thing–even if they survived everything with the galra and Voltron, Keith knew Shiro wasn’t going to live a long life. He knew and lived in absolute terror of the fact that Shiro was living on borrowed time, that he could be torn away from him any day.
It’s why he’s so angry and defensive when other people tell him to give up on Shiro, it’s why he’s so fired up when Shiro nearly gives up on himself. Shiro telling Keith he’s finally died in season 6 is the bomb Keith has been waiting for the universe to drop for literally years. He’s facing his absolute worst fear, and like a miracle, he still manages to find a way to bring Shiro back.
And Keith has seen others give up on Shiro the way people have given up on him–whenever he promises not to abandon Shiro, not to leave without him, to save him as many times as it takes–that’s so powerful given their tragic pasts. They have both been left behind by loved ones, but they’ve finally found a home with each other. They love one another unconditionally and neither will ever abandon the other. It’s a link that they both ached for and need.
because I see people doing it again, I’m gonna just once again request: please don’t tag as bro/ganes,,
do we have canon confirmation that whatever shiro’s condition was was on the level of being terminal illness? either way this post stands solid and i love it.
Most untreatable degenerative muscle diseases are terminal due to the complications that arise by the muscle atrophy, especially when it starts affecting the respiratory system.
From the dire way Shiro speaks about it, it would have to be one that would eventually lead to his death or it wouldn’t have been such an major problem.
If you send me hate about this I’m going to block you on the basis that you don’t like seeing people ask for help online. Any amount anyone can spare will help me, even $1. Some people have given a couple of dollars, and that has made all the difference! Ko-fi allows you to donate in intervals of $3, you can send any amount with Paypal and Cashapp.
and if you can’t send anything to help, a boost is well appreciated!
Hey everyone!, so thanks to a very kind person, MOST of this bill was paid off. I spoke to the collection agent earlier today and the price has been adjusted with updated interest and late fees that have been accruing on it (because incidentally, the last two payments i made were late)
I’ve neglected this post this past month because work has been driving me up the wall, but this is still an issue for me presently
I’M SO CLOSE TO MY GOAL, so please boost!
Hey y'all the deadline is approaching soon (July 24th) and I havent even made half my goal yet ! Please help, cents or dollars it doesn’t matter - boosting also helps!
Even if nobody reads this, I certainly wanted to get this information out there because people are still so insistent on saying “Sheith is dead” and “Sheith is incest” while the Sheith fans are in the middle of celebrating.
At the advent of modern shipping, the grandfather of slash ships paved the way for all other ships out there. These pioneers were Spock/Kirk, better known as Spirk.
Their relationship in Star Trek: The Original Series was always a deep one. Spock respected James Kirk as his captain, admired him for his intellect and ability to think on his toes. Kirk also held immense respect for Spock, rarely seeing him as his subordinate but as his equal.
They were also great friends. They would constantly sacrifice themselves for each other, confide in one another about their past, their fears, their hopes and dreams. They shared a love of space and exploration into the unknown. They fought alongside each other and grew with one another on their 5-year mission into space and beyond with their adventures after.
Now, why am I talking about Star Trek in a Voltron post?
In the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, written by the series creator Gene Roddenberry, there was a certain term that Spock thinks as he somehow mentally senses Kirk out in space. “T’hy’la”. It means “friend, brother, lover”
It is the equivalent of a soulmate—somebody who shares an undefinable relationship with another that transcends the meanings of friendship, brotherhood, and romantic love.
Kirk and Spock will often be described as friends and brothers by characters within the canon of the Star Trek and outside of it by fans due to the lengths they have gone for each other, but then there is this more…subtle undertone with their relationship that has always transcended both of those terms. They are always quick to try and sacrifice everything for the other multiple times. Their intimacy is much deeper than that shared between friends or brothers, and they go to lengths that very few would.
It was what drew Spirk shippers to them in the first place.
I bring all of this up because Sheith fans are now faced with a stage in Shiro and Keith’s relationship where their brotherhood is pushed to the forefront. Keith sees Shiro as a brother. Keith loves Shiro deeply. Keith would die for Shiro.
People are so quick to use this as proof that Sheith is dead, but I’d argue we are only just at the midway point of their relationship’s potential growth. They are only going to continue to grow emotionally close from here because now the barriers that were there are gone. Keith faced his worse fears over Shiro, he finally has HIS Shiro back, and he’s finally verbalized his feelings for Shiro.
To me, they mirror Spock and Kirk’s relationship pretty well. There is this overwhelming respect between Shiro and Keith, a love of space and exploration that they both share, a sense of self-sacrifice for the other, and this abundance of love that they hold for one another.
I don’t care if Sheith becomes canon or not, but if nothing else I think this season only continues to reinforce that Shiro and Keith are the most important relationship in this series and it makes sense that people would ship them.
